Balmain

Balmain is a French luxury brand and fashion house. Pierre Balmain founded the company in 1946 with an education from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He sought the training in order to become an architect but quickly discovered the passion for fashion illustrations and design. He achieved great success and dressed several famous movie stars such as Ava Gardner and Birgitte Bardot. He even got the unofficial title as "King of French Fashion". After Pierre Balmain's death in 1982, the job as head designer for the fashion house has been handed over from a famous designer to the next. The currently holding job since 2009 is Olivier Rousteing. Rouesting has within the position updated the brand and made it ultra-modern and groundbreaking.

Already 1947, Balmain began working with perfume products and launched his first perfume; Vent Vert. Vent Vert is today mainly sold in an updated version from 1999 that smells of moss, galbanum and Hyacinth. The bottle is exquisite with a lid in the form of a glittering, shiny ball in silver-coloured metal. Balmain has released a number of independent perfumes, including Ivoire from 2012 which smells of iris, galbanum and violet leaves. They have also launched a collection named Extatic. The main perfume Extatic was launched in 2014, and smells of pear, orchid and wood.
