Exuviance is a brand of advanced, scientifically proven, mildly exfoliating skin care products from NeoStrata. It was founded by the professors who hold the first patent on Glykolsyrans use in skin care. What is unique to Exuviance is that the products contain a large amount of polyhydroxisyror, a further development of Alfahydroxisyrorna that is milder and suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin, without irritating or less effective.
The products from Exuviance contains either glycolic acid or PHA (Gluconolactone and Laktobionsyra) and they are always formulated with a PH value that provides optimal efficiency and safety. They often contain vitamins, antioxidants and sunscreen that protect the skin against harmful environmental factors, free radicals and premature aging. Thanks to Exuviance can now all, even those with sensitive skin types that experience itching, stinging or burning, use AHA acids without fear of irritation or discomfort.
Because many of the products from Exuviance exfoliate the skin with the help of acids, you can initially experience the skin peels, which after a mild tan. This is quite normal. It usually occurs during the first two weeks and lasts for about two weeks. If your skin becomes too irritated by this, you should initially use the products a little less often, eg. Every other day instead of each day. Then use the products as usual after the instructions when the skin has become accustomed to them.
Polyhydroxisyrorna (PHA) is closely related to Alfahydroxisyrorna (AHA) but its molecules are larger and have several hydroxyl groups. Because they are larger, they penetrate the skin more slowly and are less irritating, which is perfect for those with sensitive skin. The PHA acids bind and add lots of moisture to the skin (more than the AHA acids) thanks to the many hydroxyl groups, the foundation of healthy skin. They strengthen the skin barrier so that the skin becomes less sensitive to irritation and environmental impact. In addition, they possess antioxidant properties that can help prevent cell damage. Although the PHA acids can be seen as a further development, gluconolactone, for example, actually occurs naturally in the body.
Just like Alfahydroxisyrorna, they also promote skin renewal (metabolism and exfoliation of cells), resulting in noticeably smoother skin and a clearer, more even skin tone. Examples of PHA's are Gluconolactone and Maltobionsyra. These acids inhibits naturally occurring enzymes that break down collagen and elastin, as well as helping to preserve the skin's structure. Ultimately, the PHA acids give you a fuller and firmer skin with a youthful appearance and fewer visible lines and wrinkles.
