Issey Miyake

Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer who has become famous worldwide for its innovative and modern creations. He first trained as a graphic designer in Tokyo, but after working for a few years in New York and Paris, he discovered his great passion for clothing and fashion. In 1970 he founded the fashion house in his name which would be one of the greatest. He has become famous mainly for his close relationship to contemporary art. By using different textile techniques in combination with exciting shapes and patterns, he has created an image around himself as artistic genius. In recent years, however, he has taken a step back and now Dai Fujiwara has the role of leader of the fashion house.

The first perfume was launched in 1992. L'eau D Issey scented of lotus flower, Honeydew and lily of the petals. The bottle was in an exciting Chaton design with a mattfärgad white body and shiny lid in silver-coloured metal. Since then, Miyake has released a dozen versions of the original perfume, with varying bottle design and aromas. For example, Lune D Issey released in 2001 that has the same cone design but where the silver-coloured lid has been replaced by a clear blue lid that flows into a ombre. The perfume smells osmanthus, sensitive and musk. Miyake has also launched a collection named Pleats, Tack, where the main perfume released in 2012 smells of pea, pear and peony, and the bottle's design is inspired by Issey Miyakes fashion Creations.
