Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)

Niacinamide is also known as vitamin B3 and is important in the diet. Niacinamide applied to the skin is essential for improved moisture level, softness, suppleness and elasticity. It is known that several important lipids such as fatty acids and ceramides are necessary for the structure and integrity of the stratum corneum, the outer layer of the skin that acts as a barrier against water loss from the skin's deeper layers. Niacinamide has been attended to reduce water loss and increase amounts of free fatty acids and ceramides. Niacinamide increases the amount of keratin and other epidermal proteins, fibroblasts and collagen.

Carnosine

Carnosine (Eng. Carnosine) is a dipeptide of the amino acids beta-alanine and histidine. The body's proteins are constantly threatened by a process called glycation (Eng. glycation), a reaction between proteins and sugar. Glycation changes the configuration of proteins and creates so-called Advanced Glycation Endproducts, or AGE's. AGE's are involved in many of the diseases associated with aging. Carnosine can protect proteins against glycation and can kelatera divalent metal ions and thus counteract chronic glycolysis that are feared to accelerate the aging process. Carnosine is also a powerful antioxidant.

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide

Palmitoyl Oligopeptid is a chain of five amino acids connected to a fatty acid. It consists of the amino acids glycine, glutamine, proline and arginine. Palmitoyl Oligopeptid stimulates the synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid in the deep layers of the skin. It also provides a mild UV protection that helps protect the skin against sun damage. It was developed as a result of research to mimic the effects of retinoic (retinol) without skin irritation.

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7

A synthetic peptide complex that acts as a cellular messenger to stimulate collagen and hyaluronic acid to increase skin elasticity and tone.

Catechins & Flavonoids

The catechins and flavonoids found in the serum are: Camelia Sinensus (green tea), Myrtus communis (myrtle), Ilex paraguariensis (organic yerba mate). These act as messenger molecules that repair and activate the synthesis of the extracellular matrix and increase the proliferation.
